Hutchins Loft has a keen sense for the beauty of the pigeon species. Through the years we have been happy to be involved in the wonderful world of racing pigeons - racing and breeding. Below you will find just a few of the comments sent to us about our involvement in this pigeon sport.

I met Danny Hutchins in sort of a round-about way back in 2004 after I had just gotten back into the pigeon sport the year before.

Like many of us in the sport, my Father and I had raised pigeons when I was a young lad in Junior High school in Lubbock, Texas. I had the desire and opportunity to get back into the sport in 2003 and wanted to try and obtain the very best birds I could afford at the time for my breeding stock.

I was a novice breeder and was trying to learn as much as I could as fast as I could in 2003. I had met Chris Peeman and his wonderful wife Bea at their home and loft in Springtown, Texas, so when he decided to have the Texas Shootout and the American Showdown one loft races, I readily bred and sent birds to those races.

I happened to be lucky enough to have two birds on the first drop at the American Showdown race, and I was "bitten" by the bug! Later that year Chris had a yearling race with the birds left over from the other two races and Danny happened to "buy" one of my birds to enter into the race. Well, that bird was on the first drop and won Hutchins some money too! The next thing I know, I get a call wanting a pedigree on the bird........and the rest is history!

Danny Hutchins is not only one of the best Breeders and Flyers in the game, he is also one of the true Gentleman of the sport, and has become one of my closest friends.

We have given each other young birds to fly on our respective race teams and "test-out" certain matings, and he has sent me some excellent birds through the years.

In 2005 I raced "Hutchins-05-257" with great results as she won Champion Bird of the Club and Combine, and then was 1st Texas Center Hall of Fame 2005! She has since gone on to breed winners for me! This last young bird season, another one of Danny's birds, "Hutchins-07-849" won Champion Bird of the Year for me. She is a beautiful Blue Check hen and has gone into the breeding loft.

I can't say enough about Danny Hutchins, and Hutchins Loft as far as the quality of the person and the quality of his birds. He is a true asset to the sport we all love and enjoy.
